Did I always want to start a social media marketing company?
Nope.
Did I need to start this company?
Hell yes!
‘So, why did we need to start Sort My Social?’ I hear you ask.
Well...
Before I started Sort My Social I was running an app games design studio, we were responsible for designing, building and monetizing our own mobile apps.
Like any business, this took up a lot of time and my time was split across many different tasks. My time was valuable, but I also didn’t have loads of cash to spend outsourcing or delegating all my activities.
When it came to Social Media, there was no doubt that being active on the right channels was crucial to growing my audience and making sales.
With most social media marketing firms charging thousands of pounds a month to manage your pages I was left with no option other than to figure it out myself.
After months of trial and error and hard work I found some great ways to keep my pages updated and make use of social media ads to drive engagement and grow our online following efficiently.
I wrote the processes I was using down into a document and hired an assistant to take on the workload while I got back to running my business.
People around me soon started asking me how I got my social media pages so active when I am so busy, they wanted to know if there was a way they could get their social media taken care of.
I explained what I was doing and how I had trained my new assistant to run it for me, but they really didn't want to start hiring and training people. they just wanted their social media 'sorted'.
It was then I decided design a solution not just for my own social media, but one for everyone. A solution that enabled business owners to keep their social media pages active, with as little effort and cost as possible, saving both time and money whilst also growing their online presence effectively.
That is when Sort My Social was born.
I hired a full time member of staff and set up Sort My Social. I started by engaging with many of the local businesses I already had relationships with, working with them to refine our service offering, this helped us land our first group of clients.
Since then we have taken on hundreds more clients and grown from just 2 people, back in 2013, to a worldwide team of 15 social media marketing experts.
Our hunger for improvement and drive to offer the most valuable services possible, still sits at the heart of everything we do.
